I have some firearms that I no longer use, and would like to sell
legally. How do you go about that?

I know that when I buy a firearm, I have to register it. So if I wanted
to sell it how do I do it legally?

I know I could go to a gunshop and have them do it, but they would take
some of the profit or offer to buy it from me cheap and then sell it for
    a profit.

I'm sure it's not a hard process, just wondering...

    Thanks

That would depend upon your state of residence and that of the prospective buyer. Here in the free state of Wyoming, private sales are not regulated at all. If purchasing from a FFL you need to perform paperwork and background check.

What state are you in? In Texas and Oregon we can just purchase privately without anything more than a sales receipt. Don't have to register anything - just the way it should be...

Oh wow... I wish I still lived in NY now. I too, have a Neos. Mine
has green highights.... I'd like the carbine kit. Have wanted one
ever since I found out they existed. Good luck finding a home for it.
I'm already jealous of the new owner!

I checked online and to transfer a pistol the buyer and I would need to
fill out paperwork which includes background investigations at the
Sherrif's office or at a licensed FFL dealer.

Wow! I looked at the purple accented U22, but opted for black instead.

I would most likely sell the carbine kit with the U22.

    Thanks for your reply!

    Have a great day Weatherman.

... Hey, this isn't my tagline! Who put this here?

Yeah, transfers within NYS are miserable. Not sure what needs to be done for out of state. I know it'd have to go to an FFL out here, I'd have to fill out the 4473 and then I'm out the door as I have a CCP and don't have to wait for a background check. For departure from the state I'm guessing it'd involve you taking the arm to an FFL, filling out what paperwork they have and then providing them with the FFL info at this end.

Either way, a bit of a pain in the neck. Hope you have good luck finding a home for it!

As soon as I saw you say PA, I thought, "Oh no..."
